Dr Chris Traut graduated from the University of the Western Cape at the top of his class in 2016. After completing his community service year, he moved to Gauteng, where he has been in private practice for the last seven years.
Dr Martinette Engelbrecht has been practising dentistry in Bryanston and Fourways, Johannesburg, for 14 years. There, she delivers high-quality care across general and specialized fields.
She holds a Bachelor of Dentistry degree from the University of Pretoria and postgraduate diplomas in Implantology and Advanced Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry.
Dr Jennifer Julyan graduated with a BChD from the University of Pretoria (2012). Subsequently, she earned a post-graduate diploma in aesthetic dentistry from the University of the Western Cape (2015), a specialist MChD degree in prosthodontics from the University of the Western Cape (2022), a fellowship in prosthodontics from the College of Medicine South Africa (CMSA) (2022).
Dr Andy Effting graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in 1981 and was awarded the Henry St. John Randell commemorative medal for the ‘Best All-Round Student’.
He relocated to Cape Town in 1982 and established the Hout Bay Dental Studio. The original single-dentist practice has since grown impressively to the current facility, comprising four dentists, a periodontist, an endodontist and two oral hygienists.
Andy is particularly interested in aesthetics, metal-free, minimally invasive, bonded dentistry, and holistic patient care.
Dr Ebrahim Fakir matriculated in Cape Town in 1999 and completed his Dental Undergraduate degree at the University of the Western Cape (summa cum laude) in 2004. He was also awarded the SADA Gold Medal for first place in class.
In 2005, he began working at the University of the Western Cape in the Department of Oral Medicine and Periodontology. In 2007, he started work at the Department of Maxillo-Facial and Oral Surgery at Groote Schuur Hospital before commencing his registrar training at Groote Schuur, Tygerberg and Red Cross Hospitals in 2009.
Jaco is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of senior leadership experience in the insurance industry. His extensive experience has given him a deep understanding of the financial services sector in South Africa and the rest of Africa. He currently serves as the CEO of PPS Health Professions Indemnity, a division of PPS Short-term Insurance Company Limited.
He often jokes and says he would have liked to be a full-time consumer activist. Jaco's commitment to fairness underpins his dedication to advocating for his clients. He believes in transparent communication and empowering clients to make more informed decisions, key strengths he brings to his professional role.
Dr van der Linde completed his undergraduate Bachelor of Dental Science (BDS) in 2012 at the University of the Witwatersrand. During this time, he was awarded the SADA Leadership Medal for displaying outstanding leadership qualities, character, and sportsmanship.
He also participated in and won the 2012 Dentsply/SADA student clinician programme for research undertaken as an undergraduate student. He presented this research at the 153rd Annual Session of the American Dental Association (ADA) held in San Francisco, California, USA.
Dr Grotius embarked on his dental journey at the University of Pretoria, earning his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BChD) in 1996. He then pursued a Diploma in Maxillo-Facial and Oral Surgery (Dip Odont) in 1997. In 2005, he achieved his MChD in Prosthodontics, further enhancing his skills.
His career took him to Brighton, UK, where he served as a General Dental Surgeon from 1996 to 2001. He gained invaluable experience in a diverse healthcare environment, working on National Health patients and growing a strong private practice.
Dr Bradley Bredekamp qualified as a dentist from the University of the Western Cape and achieved his specialist degree in Oral Medicine and Periodontology (Cum Laude) from Stellenbosch University in 2003.
He has been in private Periodontal Practice in Durban for the past 20 years. His interests include Implantology and Hard and Soft Tissue Augmentation.
