Prof Peet van der Vyver qualified as a dentist BChD (Cum Laude) at the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 1992. In 2007 he completed two Diplomas in Endodontics and Aesthetic Dentistry (Cum Laude) as well as a Masters Degree in Endodontics (Cum Laude). In 2017, he received his PhD degree.
He works mainly in his private practice in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa, where he runs the Studio for Endodontics, Restorative Dentistry and Dental Education. He is also a part-time lecturer in the Department of Odontology, School of Dentistry, University of Pretoria, South Africa.
He is the President of The South African Society for Endodontics and Aesthetic Dentistry (SASEAD) and a past President of the South African Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (SAAAD).
Peet has over 218 publications to his credit and is an international lecturer who has participated in more than 425 congresses and hands-on courses in South Africa, Switzerland, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, Israel, Dubai, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Lebanon, Russia, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Canada.
In his limited spare time, he enjoys travelling to explore nature and fulfil his second passion, photography. Peet is a keen Dental and Wildlife photographer, and one of his productions has been screened on Nat Geo Wild in the series Fight Night.
Endodontic Management and Aesthetic Restoration of Teeth with Immature Roots
Trauma to anterior teeth and anomalies are common phenomena in young children and adolescents. Treatment can be further complicated when the pulp is involved in an immature permanent tooth. This presentation will discuss the endodontic management of teeth with immature apices and the aesthetic restorative management of these cases.

- Outline the step-by-step protocol for a direct composite build-up technique for large Class IV restorations
