Functionally Driven Dental Treatment : Is this possible in a fully digital workflow?
Dr Andrew Ellis
The functional occlusion of the dynamic masticatory system compromises one of the most fascinating and important areas of study in dentistry. It is the cornerstone of all dental treatment, regardless of which facet of dentistry you are talking about. In any multi-disciplinary approach, the occlusion remains of paramount importance in order to obtain a stable long term result.
The explosion of technological and procedural advances has created a new age in Dentistry, but we cannot forget the important concepts of old and must manage to incorporate them into the new digital world we live in today.
Is a full digital workflow possible to achieve all the functional accuracy that is needed in our treatments? Do we need a fully digital workflow? Is it viable or should we rather look to combine the best of both worlds?
This lecture will explore these questions and look to make sense of the quagmire that is digital dentistry.
